Kids love learning with Emily Tuckett!
Tutoring at the Level YOU Need
Remember your favorite science teacher in school? The one who would blow things up (safely) and make you get up and DO?
That's the kind of teacher I am.
My name is Emily Tuckett, and I’m a registered teacher with 12 years of experience teaching every grade K-8. I’ve been a scholarship coach for 10 years and helped all types of kids! I love to get kids up and moving, and I use a hands-on student-led teaching style. Having taught every grade Kindergarten up through 8th means I have a very good vertical picture of what your kid needs to be learning. I also know what's coming up, and what prerequisite skills have been taught. This makes me very good at differentiation (the process of adapting lessons to fit individual kid needs.)
I love to use science as a vehicle to teach math and ELA concepts. Across my career, my students have:
Built a Gingerbread Pompeiian Village | Hydrodipped School Supplies | Dissected Frogs |
Panned for Gold | Played Bungee Barbie | Oil Painted |
Made their own City | Created Rube-Goldberg Machines | Simulated the Sinking of the Lusitania |
Blown up things in the Microwave (Safely!) | Raced Rocket Cars | Made Chocolate Rocks |
Launched Rockets | Made Maglev Racers | Ate Edible Models of Plant Cells |
